On September 28, CR Power Ganqing Company of the Central-West China Region held the groundbreaking ceremony of the first phase of the 600,000kW Muguang complementary power generation project of the China Resources GW-level photovoltaic power generation base in Qishan Township, Yongdeng County, Gansu Province. Wang Yanqun, Secretary of the Yongdeng County Party Committee, Liu Zongbin, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and County Mayor, Zhang Zhenxiang, Deputy Director of the Lanzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and Liang Wenya, Deputy General Manager of the Region and General Manager of Ganqing Company attended the ceremony.

The first phase of the 600,000kW Muguang complementary power generation project of the China Resources GW-level photovoltaic power generation base in Qishan Township, Yongdeng County, Gansu Province, is constructed and operated by China Resources Power. It is now the province's largest single photovoltaic project. By the end of the year, it is planned to be partially connected to the grid and generate power. After completion, the project will generate over 900 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy per year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 909,600 tons and saving 363,800 tons of standard coal, all of which will have a noticeable impact on Lanzhou's energy structure, energy conservation, and emission reduction.

President Liang presented a welcoming address on behalf of Ganqing Company, expressing his appreciation to local governments and all sectors of society for their support to China Resources Power. He stated that China Resources Power would adhere to General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions on national energy security and energy transition, as well as the "clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient" energy development policy and new development concepts, and pay special attention to development and construction of new energy. Moreover, Ganqing Company would go all out to ensure that the project is connected to the grid as scheduled. Simultaneously, China Resources Power would give full play to its diversified industry advantages and build Muguang complementary project in Yongdeng County into a first-class demonstration project in China, empowering rural revitalization and high-quality economic and social development of Yongdeng County.

Hu Binchao, Deputy Dean of the Electromechanical Design Institute of Hydrogeological Engineering Geological Survey Institute of Gansu Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources Exploration and Development, released a statement on behalf of the Electromechanical Design Institute. Deputy Dean Hu said that he would pull out all the stops to ensure the progress of the project design and the timeliness of the successful grid-connection of the project.

In his remarks, County Mayor Liu Zongbin lauded China Resources Power. He emphasized that the project's launch is not only a concrete manifestation of the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Symposium on Ecological Protection and High-quality Development of the Yellow River Basin but also a milestone for Yongdeng County's efforts following the national dual-carbon strategy of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" at excelling in the "dual control" of energy consumption and energy upgrading and transformation. As a leader in the new energy industry, China Resources Power has quickly started the preliminary work of the project since signing a cooperation agreement with Yongdeng County, delivering on its promise to "start construction in the same month of approval," demonstrating the central enterprise's high efficiency, high quality, and high operational capacity, as well as the company's team spirit in overcoming obstacles and shining at fighting challenging battles. It is hoped that all relevant departments of the county government would offer comprehensive project construction services, coordinate and resolve disputes and challenges that arise in a timely fashion, and work to foster a favorable external environment for project construction.
