The kick-off & cornerstone laying ceremony for the microalgae-based carbon sequestration project and dry ice conversion project in the carbon neutrality demonstration base in Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone was convened on July 13 in China Resources Power (Haifeng) Co., Ltd.

CR Power will cooperate with scientific research institutes such as Zhejiang University in the microalgae-based carbon sequestration project, attempting to develop this project into the first demonstration project in South China for the emission reduction, conversion and utilization of carbon dioxide in flue gas generated by coal-fired power plants through microalgaes, as well as the first demonstration project for conversion of carbon dioxide in flue gas generated by coal-fired power plants by column microalgae photobioreactor. Dry ice is a recycling of carbon dioxide in flue gas from power plants, which reduces the carbon emissions of other processes and greatly contributes to the reduction of total carbon emissions of the society. The two projects will help Haifeng Company's carbon capture test platform realize the comprehensive utilization of carbon dioxide resources, showing its significant environmental and social benefits.
