At 14:20 on October 20th, a fire broke out in the grassland at the junction of Jilin Pasture and Baiyin Qinggele Gacha, which locates on the east side of the “First Class Road” in Xiwuqi, Xilin Gol League. After receiving request for assistance from the local government, China Resources Power (Xilin Gol) Co., Ltd. (referred to as Xilin Gol Project) immediately sent fire truck and five firefighters of the project department to the site for support.

The support team rushed to the scene and found that the area of burning grassland reached about 1,218 mu and the fire was rapidly spreading to the northeast. The team rushed into the fire regardless of the high temperature and smoke, and quickly started to extinguish the fire. After over 80 minutes’ fight, they finally put out the flames.

During the period, Bai Yongchun, Secretary of Xiwuqi Party Committee, and Xu Lei, Director of Emergency Management Bureau, went to the scene to direct the firefighting. They highly praised and affirmed the rapid response and the decisive commitment of Xilin Gol Project in firefighting, which successfully saved the losses for pastoralists.

Since the beginning of the year, the full-time fire brigade of Xilin Gol Project has helped the pastoralists put out six fires, effectively protecting the lives and property of surrounding pastoralists and maintaining the ecological balance of the grasslands.
