On October 7, the kickoff meeting of Liyujiang Power Plant of China Resources Power's Flexible Supply Project to Hunan was convened at the Hunan Project of China Resources Power Chenzhou Company. Ouyang Xiaofeng, Deputy Director of Hunan Provincial Energy Bureau, Wu Qilong, Deputy Secretary-General of Chenzhou Municipal People's Government, Wang Enze, General Manager of China Resources Power Chenzhou Company, more than 50 officials from State Grid Hunan Electric Power Co., Ltd., and staff from related units attended the meeting. The meeting decided that the flexible power supply of Liyujiang Power Plant of China Resources Power would be officially connected to the Hunan power grid on October 8.

"Report to the shift supervisor console, the No. 1 unit of Liyujiang Power Plant of China Resources Power has successfully connected to the Hunan power grid. Everything is normal." On the afternoon of October 8, as the operator closed the knife switch, the 500 kV transmission project of Liyujiang Power Plant was successfully delivered with load, marking the official transmission of power from Liyujiang Power Plant to Hunan.

The Liyujiang Power Plant of China Resources Power Chenzhou Company is located in Liyujiang Town, Zixing City. It is the southernmost power support point of the Central China power grid. It was built in the mid-1950s and has undergone four phases of expansion. As a "West to East Power Transmission" project, it mainly transmits electricity to Guangdong after its expansion and commissioning. The China Resources Liyujiang Power Plant's Flexible Supply Project to Hunan is a critical project that was urgently started under the direct dispatch of the National Energy Administration and coordinated by two provinces (Hunan, Guangdong) and two networks (State Grid, China Southern Grid). The State Grid Corporation of China committed RMB 330 million in this phase to build the Liyujiang Power Plant-Chenzhou East-Sudan 500kV line, which spans 56.7 kilometers and has 154 newly constructed towers. After commissioning, the two 330,000kW units of Liyujiang Electricity Plant will supply the Guangdong and Hunan power grids flexibly. In an emergency, it can close a power shortfall of about 600,000 kilowatts in Hunan Province, relieving Hunan Province of the burden of ensuring supplies.

The flexible transfer of the Liyujiang Power Plant to Hunan has captured the interest of the Hunan Province and Chenzhou media across the board. In an interview with reporters from Hunan TV Station and Chenzhou TV, Wang Enze, general manager of China Resources Power Chenzhou Company, described, "After the Hunan project is completed, the flexible transfer of Liyujiang Power Plant will effectively alleviate Hunan's power pressure during summer and winter peak electricity demand periods, as well as provide reliable power support points for Hunan's implementation of the "three highs and four news" strategy and Chenzhou's establishment of "one pole and six districts." On the other hand, it has the potential to maximize the utilization of energy generating resources in the power plant, resulting in a win-win situation for companies and society."
