On September 9th, Nanjing Ecology and Environment Bureau announced the first batch of environmental protection trust protection enterprises of Nanjing, with 23 enterprises on the list, including Nanjing China Resources Thermal Power Co., Ltd. (referred to as Banqiao Project) and Nanjing Chemical Industry Park Thermal Power Co., Ltd. (referred to as Chemical Park Project) of Jiangsu Region.

 
Environmental trust protection enterprises should comply with laws and regulations, with clean production reaching international advanced level and environmental protection credit rating evaluated as “green”. They should have sewage discharge permit and perform according to its requirements, and the discharge should be stable and meet the standards and online monitoring norms. There should be no verified environmental petitions, complaints or reports. Besides, they should actively respond to and implement environmental quality assurance measures for heavy pollution weather and major activities.

After becoming environmental trust protection enterprise, they will enjoy certain “privileges”. For example, the environment department will reduce the frequency of inspections to the enterprises and increase service and support. During the implementation of air pollution control measures, including suspending, limiting and reducing production, and they have the right of immunity. What’s more, they can get preferential policy in the application of pollution control subsidy programs as well as the application and annual review of sewage discharge permit.

The title of “Environmental Trust Protection Enterprise” is the recognition and encouragement to the environmental protection work of Jiangsu Region, who will shoulder the social responsibility of protecting the green water and blue sky and contribute to the high-quality green development of Nanjing.
