On September 3rd , the villagers of Laowangzhai Village, the targeted poverty alleviation point of Fuyang China Resources Power Co., Ltd. (referred to as Fuyang Project), put boxes of sweet potatoes on the truck with simple smile and joy of harvest, which would be sent to all the love units in East China Region.

In the past two years, all units in East China Region have actively purchased sweet potatoes and bean vermicelli from Laowangzhai Village. This year’s sweet potato were just harvested, and more than 5,000 kilograms have been ordered, which promoted the collective industry development of Laowangzhai Village and greatly increased the income of the local poor. Fan Haibin from a poverty-stricken family said, “In the past, I wanted to grow sweet potatoes but I dare not because of the low production and sales, and I was afraid that I could not sell them. Now, I can sell all of them even if I only grow two acres, and the price is stable. Thank China Resources Power for helping me! ”

Fuyang Project of East China Region actively responds to China Resources Group’s call of “Living good life with CR”, and helps the local poverty alleviation with a high sense of social responsibility. Since the partner assistance between Fuyang Project and Laowangzhai Village formed, Fuyang Project has communicated with Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences through field investigations, and introduced the “watermelon red” variety of sweet potato that was suitable to grow in the black land of Laowangzhai Village. In the meantime, they opened a collective enterprise to pave the way for industrial development. “If you find the right path, you will never be afraid how far it is.” Laowangzhai Village has made use of the land advantages to create a viable and sustainable development path for sweet potato industry, which has greatly benefited the poor people.
