CR Power Together with College Students Starting the Journey of Exploring China's Power Development Achievements in the New Age

During September 20-23, CR Power held the Fourth Public Opening Month of "Start from Heart and Green Development" -- "CR Power in the Eye of College Student Journalists" Activity. The 18 students from 11 institutions of higher education such as Nanjing University, Sun Yat-sen University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and South China University of Technology took part in activity, learnt about the sustainable development of China's modern energy and power enterprises and felt cutting-edge energy technical innovation achievements on the site of Guangdong Shanwei Haifeng Power Plant, Fujian Longyan Zhengfu Wind Farm and Fujian Fuqing Smart Energy Project under CR Power.

 
On September 20, the activity was started at the headquarters of CR Power located at China CR Building, Shenzhen. Wang Changli, general secretary and general manager of the office of CR Power, introduced China Resources Group and power development overview. He hoped that the college student journalists could, by virtue of field investigations and visits, enhance their learning and cognition of China's energy and power generation industry development, intensify the sense of responsibility and the sense of mission, keep learning, practising and growing, and make contributions to the Chinese nation.

 
On September 21, the press corps visited Haifeng Power Plant, which is a beautiful coastal power plant. As one of 6 power plants with 1 million KW units of CR Power in China, Haifeng Power Plant is also the first ultra-low emission project of 1 million KW units in Guangdong. Students successively interviewed at the enterprise exhibition hall, central control room, turbine room, boiler platform and CCUS exhibition hall, and learnt about the innovative transformation, green environmental protection measures and sustainable development philosophy of the power plant in detail.

 
Chen Hua, deputy general manager of Haifeng Power Plant, introduced the CCUS test platform. CCUS, i.e. carbon capture, utilization and storage technology, is one of key technologies responding to global climatic changes and is highly emphasized by all the countries in the world. It was introduced that it was the first carbon dioxide capture technology test platform based on ultra supercritical coal-fired power generation units. By relying on the internal technology institute and scientific expert teams, CR Power established a technical alliance with domestic and overseas relevant scientific research institutions such as UK-China (Guangdong) CCUS Centre, China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd., Shell and the University of Edinburgh of UK and consulting experts, integrating industry-university-institute resources and advancing domestic CCUS technology R&D and demonstration.

 
On September 22, the press corps went to Fujian Longyan Zhenfu Wind Farm, and felt the constant momentum generated by clean renewable energy on the site. Lin Rigeng, a NPC member of Fujian and the third-generation owner of Zhencheng Building at Yongding County, introduced measures such as the construction of booster station by the wind farm in combination with local characteristics, promotion of local tourism industry, active vegetation restoration and return to the society, and highly praised CR Power's active fulfillment of social responsibilities and results of robust development of clean energy. According to the introduction of Wo Zhonglei, director of Zhenfu Wind Farm, this wind farm records 2,341.84 annual average power generation utilization hours, 2,275.06 equivalent full-load hours and annual online power of 109.2033 GWh, and each year, can replace 35,600 tons of standard coal, reduce ash yield of 13,200 tons and the emissions of SO2 of about 38.22 tons, NOx of 38.22 tons and CO2 of about 101,200 tons. Since the time of being put into production, the Zhenfu Wind Farm has generated the power of 162 million KWH and the revenue of over RMB90 million, showing a considerable development prospect.

 
In addition to wind power generation, the construction of wind power generation units has also propelled local tourism industry, brought new development probability of local tourism economy, and achieved that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets".

 
At the last station of the activity, the press corps arrived at the Fuyao smart energy project at Fuqing, Fujian. According to the introduction of Pan Chao, principal of the smart energy project of CR Power, Fuyao smart energy platform was launched on November 27, 2017. On December 28, 2017, rooftop distributed photovoltaic project (Phase 1) was connected with grid for power generation operation. The platform will be gradually promoted at 11 steam glass factories and 4 float glass factories of Fuyao in China.

 
After visits, the press corps created literary, photographic and video works by group, and consolidated their learning and cognition of fulfillment of state strategies by Chinese modern energy enterprises and their efforts and achievements in terms of green development, energy conservation and environmental protection, scientific and technical innovation, social responsibilities and so on.

 
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of founding of new China, CR Power, by cooperating with lots of excellent young people. strengthened opening and communication, further deepened the public opening month, and explored a meaningful industrial trip attesting China's development achievements in the new age.
