China Energy News Recently, CR Xuzhou Power Plant #3 Unit high-temperature subcritical comprehensive upgrade and transformation project successfully passed 168-hour full-load trial operation, and the unit's performance indicators and environmental protection indicators have reached excellent levels. After the upgrade and transformation, the unit will have reduced net coal consumption rate of 287 g / kWh, which is close to the actual operating level of the ultra-supercritical unit, becoming the first unit in the country or even the world to upgrade the pure condensing subcritical unit to an ultra-supercritical unit.
CR Xuzhou Power Plant was established in 1994 with a total installed capacity of 3.28 million kilowatts. It is the first power plant owned by CR Power. #3 Unit under transformation was completed and put into operation in June 2004. It is a 320,000 kilowatt domestically produced subcritical coal-fired pure condensing unit.
According to the requirements of the national plan, by 2020, the average net coal consumption rate of newly-built units in the country will be not higher than 300 g / kWh, and the average net coal consumption rate of in-service units will not be higher than 310 g / kWh. Under this background, CR Power and Shanghai Shenergy Technology have joined forces to use Shenergy Technology's high-temperature subcritical technology to transform #3 Unit of CR Xuzhou Power Plant. Calculated according to the reduction in net coal consumption rate by 31 g / kWh, under the condition of acceptance of heat consumption rate, 54560 tons of standard coal can be saved each year. According to the standard coal price of RMB760/ ton, the annual fuel cost can be reduced by about RMB40 million.
As at the end of 2018, China still had subcritical units with installed capacity of about 350 million kilowatts, with the number of subcritical units with installed capacity of 300,000 kilowatts alone reaching 943. The successful transformation of #3 Unit of CR Xuzhou Power Plant has a typical demonstration role in improving the power generation efficiency of subcritical units with huge national reserves in China, and has a profound impact on revitalizing the vitality of subcritical units and improving resource utilization.
