Report from our correspondent: At 18:18 on April 25, Unit 3 of Phase II of the CR Power Caofeidian Power Plant was successfully put into trial operation for 168 hours at full capacity, marking the success of the coal-fired power plant with the world’s lowest designed energy consumption.
Unit 3 is Hebei's first megawatt ultra-supercritical coal-fired power generation unit project. As a key practical project to deepen strategic cooperation between China Resources Group and Hebei Province, the project will provide important electric power support for the Bohai Rim Economic Circle and effectively alleviate the shortage of power supply in North China.
At the beginning of the project planning, CR Power set the world's most advanced thermal power units as its construction target, adopted a series of internationally advanced, efficient and clean coal-fired power generation technologies, completed a number of core technological innovation breakthroughs, refreshed global industry data, and attracted great attention from the industry. The project adopts a one-time reheat ultra-supercritical unit. The designed coal consumption for power supply is less than 263g/ kWh and the thermal efficiency of the whole plant 48.3%. In terms of environmental protection, the coordinated application of desulfurization and dust removal integration, full-capacity denitration and other technologies will better ensure that the project can achieve "ultra-low emission", with near zero emission of major pollutants, and set a new benchmark for the million-level units in China.
For the first time in domestic thermal power plants, the project adopts advanced technologies such as five-cylinder and six-exhaust steam turbine, ultra-low back pressure, deep coupling of mechanical and furnace heat, frequency conversion and energy conservation of comprehensive auxiliary machines, low-capacity and efficient operation, steam turbine efficiency protection, rapid boiler startup, etc. The 11-stage regenerative system adopted by the unit will solve the two major problems of high-efficiency operation in the full-capacity section and long-term continuous operation with guaranteed efficiency. It will realize the effects that the air pre-heater will not be blocked, the turbine will not lose efficiency, the catalyst will not fail, and the heating surface will not coke, thus solving the difficult problems that have plagued thermal power enterprises for a long time and improving the reliability of the unit.

China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd.’s accumulated power generation exceeds 117.8 kWh. in 2018
Report from correspondent Zhu Xuerui: On April 26, China National Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (CNNP) held the Conference on Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance Results 2018 in Beijing. It is reported that by the end of 2018, the company had held 21 nuclear power units in service with an installed capacity of 19.902 million kilowatts; 4 nuclear power units approved to be under construction with an installed capacity of 4.558 million kilowatts, with total assets of 323.481 billion yuan.
In 2018, China's nuclear power generated 117.847 billion kilowatt-hours of safe electricity, with a WANO composite index of 100 points for its four units, ranking first in the world.
In 2018, Units 3 and 4 of Phase II of Tianwan Nuclear Power will be shipped ahead of schedule, and Units 5 and 6 will be in a critical period of transition from civil engineering to installation. Sanmen Units 1 and 2 were put into commercial use. During the commissioning period, there was no plan to stop the reactor. The time spent in the process of loading, criticality and commercial transportation was the lowest among the nuclear power units in the country. The construction of Units 5 and 6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power, the world's first reactor of Hualong No. 1, was progressing smoothly. In summary, all milestone nodes were completed as planned or ahead of schedule.
It is reported that in 2018, CNNP gradually followed a diversified strategic layout with nuclear power as the foundation and a variety of new energy industries developing at the same time, steadily pushing forward the construction of new nuclear energy technology projects.
SPIC utilizes nuclear energy for heat supply
The first reactor passes the preliminary feasibility study review
Report from the correspondent: Recently, the preliminary feasibility study report of Baishan nuclear energy heating demonstration project developed by Jilin Nuclear Power Company of State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC) pass the expert review. The project has achieved another important milestone after securing the right to development and completing the general election of the plant site. It also marks that the feasibility study work of the project is about to kick off and that the project has entered the stage of substantial development.
As the first demonstration reactor of clean energy heating of CNNP, Baishan nuclear energy heating demonstration project is planned to adopt the complementary mode of nuclear energy and conventional thermal power to operate in a "network-source integration" mode, with outstanding characteristics of cleanness and intelligence. Since the beginning of feasibility study demonstration in October 2018, the project has successively completed thematic demonstration such as geotechnical engineering investigation, seismic geological investigation, environmental investigation and pre-evaluation, and has obtained corresponding supporting documents.

The first "nuclear and storage integration" project progresses steadily
Report from the correspondent: China’s first nuclear power project to carry out preliminary work in accordance with the new mode of "integrated development and operation of nuclear power and storage" – Phase I of Fujian Zhangzhou nuclear power project has basically completed “four accesses and one leveling” and the resettlement of nearly 3,000 mu of project land.
Information shows that Yunxiao Pumped Storage Project developed and built in conjunction with Zhangzhou Nuclear Power, is located in Huotian Town, Yunxiao County. It is planned to build six 300,000-kilowatt reversible water turbine generator units with a total installed capacity of 1.8 million kilowatts and a total investment of 10 billion yuan. It has been listed in the national 13th Five-Year Plan for hydropower development and the renewable energy development plan, and is currently carrying out feasibility studies.
The Yunxiao Pumped Storage Power Station Project is operated by CNNP Zhangzhou Energy Co., Ltd. Upon completion of the project, it will cooperate with the operation of nuclear power and undertake the tasks of peak regulation and valley filling of Fujian Power Grid.
