To support power grids by sharing energy storage technologies

In March 2023, CR Power officially launched the CR Substation (330kV) 200 MW/400 MWh New Energy Shared Storage Power Station Project of CR Power Haiyuan County, which was located in the Zhengqi Township, Haiyuan County, Ningxia. The Project adopts the lithium iron phosphate electrochemical energy storage technology and is equipped with 80 energy storage units, with a total configured capacity of 200 MW/400 MWh. The Project has been the largest energy storage project of CR Power in Ningxia. The Project was connected to the grid in June 2023 and transferred to commercial operation in September 2023. The advanced energy management monitoring system has been adopted to fulfill unmanned duty and reduce the number of persons on duty. The charging/discharging efficiency of the energy storage system has been up to 92%.

The Project is an important regulatory support for the Ningxia power grid, and serves as an important support for power grid stability through flexible power output. Since the time when it was put into operation, through capacity leasing and the participation in auxiliary power services, the monthly equivalent call times has exceeded 25 times, and the monthly charging and discharging capacity for peak load regulation has exceeded 10 GWh. The Project has effectively enhanced the stability of the power system in large areas where new energy sources are accessed, providing important support for the power grid and assisting in alleviating the regional wind and light curtailment.
